An afternoon to remember!

Mid July, we celebrated an exciting new chapter as MARK BAIGENT officially became part of the Corniche family. Together with Nina Grant and her wonderful team, we welcomed guests to discover the MORTUUM Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, alongside a selection of exclusive pieces created especially for Corniche that can only be found in the Edinburgh boutique.

For more than 50 years, Nina Grant has shaped an extraordinary place within British fashion. Through Corniche, she has consistently championed independent designers with remarkable intuition and conviction, long before many of them became internationally recognised. As one of the earliest UK stockists of designers such as Kansai Yamamoto and Michiko Koshino, and with Corniche being the only Scottish boutique to receive the title of "UK Designer Clothes Store of the Year", Nina's influence on the UK's independent fashion landscape is impossible to overstate.

It was an incredible privilege to spend the afternoon meeting so many wonderful people who make Corniche what it is today.

Some had been loyal Corniche customers for more than forty years, sharing stories of the designers they had discovered through Nina over the decades. Others were familiar names I had only ever known through emails and social media, people I had been in contact with for years but was finally able to meet in person. There were also many new faces who had quietly followed my work for some time and came to experience the collection for the very first time.

These conversations are what make independent fashion so meaningful. Beyond the garments themselves, they remind us that fashion is built on relationships, trust, curiosity, and communities that continue to support creativity across generations.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this new beginning, for your warmth, your stories, and your support. And to Nina, thank you for believing in my work and for welcoming MARK BAIGENT into the Corniche family. To become part of a boutique with such an important place in British fashion history is a true honour, and I couldn't imagine a more meaningful home for the collection in Scotland.
